If you are interested in getting involved with the team, please send an email along with relevant cover letter, experience and/or demo reels (as applicable) to firstname.lastname@example.org. We are especially interested in volunteers to fill the following positions:
- Shader programmers or shader artists
- Sound effects (foley) artists, and sound engineers in general
- Human resources officers / publicists
- 3D animators and/or riggers
- 3D modelers/texturers, particularly:
- Environment artists
- Character artists
If you are interested in joining the team as a 3D artist, we ask that you please send us examples of your work that demonstrate an ability to model and texture both organic and man-made objects. You should have a firm understanding of UV unwrapping and texturing. We work in Maya, pretty much exclusively.
For any artistic position, we request that you send samples of your work, and reserve the right to request more specific demonstrations of your abilities.
For some of these positions, work may not be immediately available, depending on where we are in the development cycle. Don’t be discouraged, however! We keep the contact information of everyone who applies, and even if we initially turn down your application, we may still reach out to you later on down the road. Such is the nature of sprawling volunteer-based projects like this.
If you speak languages that are not English, we want your help! We want to be able to release the game with multiple language options, but we can only do that with help from people like you. Our translation system is totally crowdsourced, thanks to GULP, an awesome translation website written by Lewis Johnston.
