Will beta be in grayscale first? I know this will not have the texturing tested, but I think it will still tell a lot about general game dynamics and give enough of the experience for a beta-level game of this proportion. Again, good luck.
Just out of curiosity: have you made all the island geometry as well? (Except for Prison Island; we’ve seen that one confirmed…)
Watching this image, and comparing it to the [150_ttlscpbypasshi.429] shot (or any other from the 150_ range for that matter), it seems the ‘backdrop cliff’ (with the gradient) doesn’t belong there.
Still this is a VERY nice-to-drewl-over shot, I just noticed it and wanted to know.
We’re trying very hard to obtain as many height maps in as high of resolution as possible but we’re going to end up doing a lot of fudging, particularly for temple island and jungle island. For several islands all we have is an overhead view.

Did you tried to match the original scale of things or did you tried to match the Uru animations ? like the telescope one for instance ?

We’re matching the scale primarily. We want the most accurate representation of Riven as possible.

Nope, beta will be full-color.
