Prison Island Prototype
Here’s a treat, while we get the high-quality presentation video edited up – a pre-rendered lighting test for Prison Island. These are the same assets you saw in the Mysterium presentation, but in a pre-rendered environment. This video is NOT gameplay footage. It was rendered in Blender, in order to demonstrate how the environment should look at sunset. Enjoy!

Not sure why my comments haven’t appeared – anyway – simply astonishing – breathtaking…

I want photos on the team roster page! I want photos on the tem roster page! I want photos on the team roster page!

Oh, and by the way, (to end my long string of comments), one things that’s worth noting, on the way up, the shadows of the bars only go part way up. Just thought I should point that out. Yep. Um. Hmm.

Keep in mind that it’s only a pre-rendered test, done in Blender. In-game, in Unity, the shadows work fine.

Ah. Thank you. Will it look as good in-game?

You bet 😀

This looks way better than the demo! (It is pre-rendered though…) The only thing that looked unfinished in the demo was the textures. Where they finished or are they going to get an upgrade before the release? (I might add, the only texture that looked “lacking” in the demo was the tree stump but that might have also been from either the lighting effects or the live stream.)

“I want photos on the team roster page! I want photos on the [team] roster page! I want photos on the team roster page!”
Ditto.

“I want photos on the [team] roster page!”
Rub it in, will ya?

We’re working on it.

How can you be sure?

How can I be sure we’re working on it…? 😛

Can you do a pre-render in Unity engine to see how it compares?
August 17th, 2011 at 1:00 am
Watch the Mysterium presentation to see how it compares currently! Better quality footage coming soon.

Cool.
By the way… those bands of clouds that you used in the video are formations that only ever occur as the result of contrails from airplanes with jet engines. So you might not want to use those. Unless there’s a hidden runway or something underneath the Rivenese village complex. 😛

The final sky is going to match the sky from Riven as closely as possible, the one in this video is simply a placeholder.

This looks fantastic!
