Jungle Island Wallpaper
While we continue to work on the Village Basin of Jungle Island, we thought we’d share a wallpaper that we put together to celebrate our work so far. We made this one at 4K, so it should be able to scale down to most resolutions gracefully.

Enjoy!

Nice! Looking at the wood chunks, don’t you fear to get a final huge polycount which will need very strong CG Cards to be rendered?

We are first designing the game for high-end machines, and then working on optimizations so that lower-power computers will be able to run it as well. There will probably be lower-poly versions of those sticks (or some other implementation) available in-game for computers that cannot handle the load.

I’ll gladly upgrade my machine to reveal this game in all its glory!

I find it funny that you’re worried about huge polygon counts when I can still distinctly see “straight polygon edges” on the supposed-to-be-round village hut in the last few screenshots.
Random thought – would tessellation help at all?
(I also wonder if Mantle helps with large polygon counts like it does with large batch counts but I know that Unreal currently doesn’t support Mantle anyway)

That looks amazing. Did you get the textures from Cyan? If not, how did you make it so authentic?

Off-topic, but I just noticed the additions to your Team Roster page. A TD from Dreamworks? Nice, I can’t wait to see what they all bring to the project!
