A Little Something
The Starry Expanse team is now gradually making their way back to their respective parts of the world, and we are beginning to pick up where we left off before Mysterium. We have a video of the content we presented on Saturday at Cyan, and we’re working on getting it uploaded (the hotel internet was simply too slow for an upload to be feasible). It’ll be up before the week is out.
Until then, here are two of our slides from the presentation, which we think make very nice wallpapers. Enjoy!
(Note that these images are based on renders from Maya, not in-game shots!)

Those are two very nice renders! The quality of the model is ace. So is the lighting and cloud composition.
I also love that symbol, very nice texturing. Don’t know where it actually sources from and the number in the middle is either one or five, right? Wait, Riven is all 5 so it must be five. really nice texturing. Good work

It is the number 5. The number 1 would be a vertical line, parallel to the smaller borders of the box. Longer borders are always on top and bottom, so you can know the orientation of the symbol.

These renders are breathtaking! This is why I’m trying to learn more in Maya 2013. I want to make renders that are just breathtaking that I can stare at forever.

I wonder how much you can push the UT4 engine to produce the image quality like that of the renders. Surely we’re nearly there!
They look soooo good, though!

I’ve seen UE4 pull off that kind of quality in realtime just fine.
